What inspired the creation of your restaurant, and how did you get your start?

Aigner Chocolates was founded in 1930 with a passion for handcrafted, European-style chocolate rooted in Austrian and German traditions. In 2015, I came into the business with a deep appreciation for its history and a vision to preserve its legacy while growing it for the future.

Can you share any memorable moments or experiences you've had as a restaurant owner in Queens?

Some of the most memorable moments are seeing multiple generations of families come in together and share stories about growing up with Aigner. It’s a reminder of how deeply rooted we are in the community.

Are there dishes or drinks that have become beloved by the Queens community, or anything on your menu you would like to highlight?

Our Caramels, Marzipan and Vienna truffles, and seasonal specialties based on whatever holiday is near. All of our recipes have remained unchanged for decades.

Are there any community events or initiatives in Queens that your restaurant has been part of? How do you get involved in the surrounding community?

We’re deeply committed to giving back and regularly donate to local schools, organizations, and community events. Through our Cocoa Joy Community Bar program, we help schools and nonprofits raise funds while also supporting educational organizations. I’m also involved in Metro Village of Forest Hills, where we work to strengthen the neighborhood by connecting and supporting local businesses.

Is there anything special you would like to share with readers?

As we approach our 100-year milestone, we’re excited to continue celebrating with our community while expanding to new locations, including JFK Airport, bringing a taste of Queens to a wider audienceMake it stand out
